Online food delivery services have revolutionized how we enjoy our favorite meals, offering unparalleled convenience with just a few taps on a smartphone. However, this ease of access has also opened the door to scams and fraudulent offers targeting unsuspecting customers. From fake discounts and phishing links to unauthorized charges, these deceptive practices can turn a hassle-free meal order into a frustrating experience. Staying informed about common scams is essential to enjoy the benefits of online food delivery while protecting yourself from potential risks.
The most recent scam offer which came to our notice is from SWIGGY
ONE. This feature of theirs supposedly offers you free deliveries and reduction
in charges. We noticed that since our SWIGGY ONE membership was due for
renewal, we kept getting pop-up messages on the offer they had for us.

“Renew SWIGGY
ONE for 39 rupees for 3 months and save money” – that’s the offer but here is
the catch on the scam offer. If you click on NEXT, the final payment scheme
shows you RENEW FOR 6 MONTHS AT 99 RUPEES. Well, most individuals click on this
without realising that they are being charged 21 rupees extra and in fact not
getting the so-called benefit. Also the option for opting for a 3-month membership
isn’t available at all.
It's disappointing to see platforms like Swiggy, trusted by
millions, resorting to tactics that appear to mislead their customers with scam
offers. Such practices not only erode trust but also tarnish the reputation of
online food delivery services. Customers deserve transparency and honesty, not
deceptive deals that undermine their experience.
We believe consumers have the right to know the truth. Stay tuned
to our website as we continue to expose more such scams and bring awareness to
the tricks being used by these platforms. Let’s demand better practices and
hold these companies accountable!
